IMPORTANT NEWS! EPA Ends Animal Testing in the USA

– Hey friends, it’s Courtney. Before we jump into this video, please hit that subscribe button. Okay now that that’s out of the way, I’m very excited to share
today’s video with you. This is such an important announcement that I just had to basically
put together a look and film this right away. So today, the Environmental
Protection Agency in the USA made this amazing announcement that they’re going to be
eliminating animal testing for pesticides and the like. Their plan is to scale
back on their testing until it’s completely eliminated by 2035. I know it’s not as good
as if it was tomorrow, but it’s still huge
news because, and also, I know it’s not directly
related to cosmetics, but it is directly
related to animal testing which is something I’m
very passionate about. So I’m really excited to hear this and it seems like they’re gonna be turning to efficacy testing models
that are more accurate, computer generated models, doing
testing with 3D simulations on 3D printed skin, stuff like that, so I think it’s really cool. The whole reason that this passed is because the Humane Society
of the United States & PCRM has been advocating for it for years and they helped to push it through, and I think that is awesome. I’m a big fan of the Humane
Society of the United States and the Humane Society International, in fact I did a couple campaigns with them a couple years ago, and
I’ve donated money to them, I really can get behind
their message and their cause and I think that this is just
so freaking cool and awesome. So basically I guess in 2018,
the EPA released a policy that said that they were encouraging alternative means of animal testing for chemicals and pesticides,
and that is kind of what helps you push through the change in addition to Humane
Society making the big push. I really like the fact
that the EPA implemented a strategic plan for
the types of test to use and how to use them and so
basically, yeah, like I said, it’s really exciting that they’re gonna be scaling back everything up until 2025, and then they’re gonna
completely eliminate everything by 2035. I wish that we would
see something like this enacted in the US for animal testing in cosmetics everywhere. I know that some states
have banned animal testing, which is awesome, but
we still haven’t seen that big push yet. And it just, it bothers
me because there have been so many different scientific
researches and studies that have come out that have
said that the animal testing that is done isn’t even accurate, and it doesn’t reflect on whether or not something’s going to be
a problem for humans, so it’s just like, yes,
let’s move towards tests that are more accurate and
safer and don’t hurt animals and they’re better for us. That sounds like a winner all around. So yeah, I just wanted to
share that with you all because I’m really, really excited to hear that basically because
of the Humane Society pushing and lobbying,
that they’ve been able to get the Environmental
Protection Agency to say that by 2035 they will
eliminate animal testing for those chemicals and
pesticides, that is great news for the cruelty-free community. Let me know your thoughts
in the comments below. If you liked this video, give

  2. I really think this shows progress in thinking for a government body. Always happy to see going in correct direction. Thanks for always keeping us up to date.

  4. Thank you, Courtney
That's a great news. Finally they did it.
I hope also the awareness raise and spread out more to the whole World. This will save more innocent souls, this is the first step.
In other hand, I hope they stop wars and spending money on new weapons and test it on innocent humans as well.

  5. Wonderful move in the right direction. I hope that with a different administration and a revitalized EPA in the future, maybe we can get there before 2035. But great news, and thank you for sharing it because I hadn't heard it

  6. I really hope it becomes common everywhere to not test on animals ever. I also hope we have more people in charge that don't do things like let rain forests burn and only care about money instead of the environment. Definitely good news among the bad. Thanks so much for the announcement! (Can you tell I get my news on the internet?)

  7. In a world that is truly quite terrifying, I'll grab onto any positive news I can! This is certainly a step in the right direction.
